Hi, I'm Wayne Jenkins, It's a pleasure to serve in
the position of Chapter Director. It is a task that
I will take seriously. I will endeavour to support GWRRA in ensuring
that the Chapter BC-V members continue to enjoy all of the great benefits of
belonging to such a wonderful organization.
I started my riding career in 1978 (immediately after getting my
drivers license) aboard a Candy Apple Red 185cc Honda Twinstar. At
the time it was the prettiest baddest Harley looking bike I'd ever
laid eyes on. From then on the feeling of riding a motorcycle on a
beautiful day was a siren's call for me. Unfortunately for financial
reasons I had to take a 20 year hiatus from owning a bike. Not that
I didn't rent, beg, or borrow from friends whenever possible. Then
one day a friend at work was being sent away for six months and he
needed someone to look after his 750 shadow. Would I mind riding it
for the next six months he asked? DUH! So the bug was planted again.
In 2002 I purchase my 84 GL1200 Aspy. And I loved it. I drove that
baby for 3 years and loved every minute of it. When time came to
part with it I'll always remember my passing thought as the new
owner drove it away. "Damn, that's a pretty bike". Oh well, I now
had my '90 1500 and was converting over to the extra length and
power. It's prettier now than the pictures I have of it here and
will get continuously prettier as I sneak money from the kids lunch
fund into my chrome fund. One thing remains the same though and that
is how much I love riding the big touring bikes from Honda. I've
never regretted joining GWRRA and I look forward to many rides with
many friends.
